Water Production Supervisor
WATER PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
Under general direction, supervises, directs, and participates in the maintenance, repair, and activities of the Water Production Department including the operation and maintenance of valves, pumps, wells, booster stations, reservoirs, and related equipment; oversees regulatory water sampling and chlorination to ensure clean potable water for customers; prioritizes and schedules work; assists with budget preparation; prepares a variety of administrative and regulatory reports; provides complex staff assistance to management staff in areas of expertise; and performs related work as required.
Requirements:
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, supplemented by college level coursework in water science or a related field.
AND
Experience: Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in water production, water treatment, water quality, or a related field.
Certifications:
- Possession of a valid California Class “C” Driver’s License, and to be maintained throughout employment.
- Possession of a valid California State Water Resources Control Board Grade II Water Treatment Operator Certificate is required. Possession of a valid Grade III Water Treatment Operator Certificate is desired.
- Possession of a valid California State Water Resources Control Board Grade IV Water Distribution Operator Certificate is required.
- Possession of a County of San Bernardino Environmental Health Services Certified Backflow Prevention Device Tester is desired.
Additional Requirements:
Depending on the needs of the City, the incumbent of this classification may be required to maintain additional licenses or certificates and Continuing Education Units. The incumbent may be required to work outside the traditional work schedule. May be subject to call out/call back or stand-by scheduling.
